Open enrollment for 2021 plans in the Health Insurance Marketplace begins Sunday, November 1, and is open through Tuesday, December 15. During this period you’ll be able to enroll in a 2021 Marketplace health plan for the first time or assess your options for re-enrollment. 2021 plans and prices will be available to preview shortly before November 1. Once you’ve enrolled for a plan during this period, your coverage will begin on January 1, 2021. You can find all of the details about how to apply, view your plan options and enroll at HealthCare.gov.
Health insurance is an important part of protecting your health and well-being, as well as your wallet in the case of an emergency. It provides free preventative services that keep you on top of your health needs, such as vaccines, screenings and some check-ups, and makes your prescriptions cheaper. And it protects you from high, unexpected medical costs since you won’t ever pay higher than your deductible.
The Health Insurance Marketplace provides many savings options for people who are low-income, unemployed, or have low-paying jobs that don’t provide health insurance. It’s worth filling out an application and looking at the options you qualify for, because it may be more affordable than you think.
CHP locations in Bozeman, Belgrade and Livingston all have trained staff who are available to help you prepare necessary documents and information, and apply for a Marketplace plan. We’ll walk you through the process step-by-step and make sure you’re getting the savings you’re qualified for. We can help you understand all of your options so you can choose a plan that works for you.
If you’re already enrolled and you don’t change your plan during open enrollment, you’ll be re-enrolled in your 2020 plan or something similar for 2021. However, some updates have been made, so new plans are available and you may qualify for more savings. To view all of your options and make sure you have the plan that works for you, we recommend logging in, updating your application, and reviewing all of your options during open enrollment.
