Provider Profile

At Community Health Partners (CHP), our dedicated healthcare providers make us who we are. As members and servants of their communities, each has a unique story behind their passion for helping others and their choice to join CHP. In this Provider Profile, we get to know Myles St. Jonn, RN, FNP, a medical provider in our Belgrade Clinic.

Myles grew up in the Bay Area of California, but when he came to visit family in Montana, he fell in love. He moved out here the first chance he could and hasn't left since. During his schooling, Myles' career started at CHP in his first job as a nurse and, after graduation, he came on as a Nurse Practitioner. In total, Myles has been serving the Belgrade community with CHP for more than five years.

If you had to explain your job to a 5-year-old, what would you say?

I work in an office where people who need help come in to see me. I do my best to use medicines, teaching, and support to help them.

What personal and professional experiences brought you to this type of work?

I have always been interested in being involved in work that clearly helps people. After finishing my undergraduate degree with no clear vision of what I wanted to do, I returned to that very sentiment, which led me into nursing. As a nurse at CHP, my job made me realize that, more than anything, I wanted to be a primary care provider (especially to a good community like Belgrade). I was quite lucky to land in Gallatin County.

What made you want to work for CHP (as opposed to another healthcare facility)?

My favorite thing about CHP is knowing I will be able to see my patients regardless of their ability to pay. Though it's not always easy, one way or another, we can always figure out how to help.

What makes you feel like you've done your job well?

I try to end every patient visit with a quick recap of everything we covered. Then I ask, "Is there anything else we can do for you?" Only when the answer is no, do I feel like I've done good work.

What do you love about your community in Montana?

This is the kindest community I have ever lived in. We hold doors open for each other, smile, and want the best for our neighbors. I could not have it any other way.

What are other ways you're involved in your community outside of serving through CHP?

Lately, my new daughter has taken all of my time, and COVID-19 limits outside contact. Prior to that, I was involved in our (surprisingly) thriving Pokemon GO community. I am looking forward to our daughter being in school and being able to connect even further with our wonderful community.

What do you do for fun?

During the winter, I'm one of the few Montanans you will not catch out on the slope. I prefer a good, quiet board game night with friends. During the summer, there's hardly a day I don't spend outside. In between, I love cooking, fishing on Hyalite Reservoir with my family, and spending time with my daughter.
